New Orleans' Louisiana Superdome, home at one time or another to Super Bowl champions and Hurricane Katrina refugees, is now home to a luxury-car brand. The arena was renamed the Mercedes-Benz Superdome this week after the carmaker acquired naming rights for 10 years. "The investment being made by a premier international brand who believes in 'the best or nothing,' is a tremendous compliment to all of those who worked so hard to make the stadium what it is today," said Tom Benson, owner of the NFL's New Orleans Saints.

College Exhibition: Braunschweig University of Art Show 2006

Transportation Design students from Braunschweig University of Art in Germany presented their work at the 2006 graduation show held in July. The show displayed final thesis projects as well as internship and sponsored projects from the last term. The diploma projects included: eXplorius - Hydrofoil Sailing Yacht Arnold Freidling This mobility concept introduces hydrofoil technology into the sailing yacht class and presents an innovative approach within the traditional sailing yacht field.

Flying car gets regulatory clearance

The Jetsons' futuristic vision of a flying car is one step closer to becoming a reality. Terrafugia, a Massachusetts company developing a "roadable aircraft" named the Transition, just received special exemptions from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that will help it move the vehicle move forward to production. NHTSA will allow the Transition to be outfitted with plastic windows rather than standard automotive safety glass.
